Find the percentage and then take it off the original price.

 

  1.  A game was £40. There’s a 10% sale. What is the price of the game now?

 

  1. A book was £25. There is a 20% sale. What is the price of the books now?

 

  1. A toy was £60. There is a 15% sale. What is the price of the toy now?

 

  1. A tshirt was £85. There is a 15% sale. What is the price now?

 

  1. A jacket was £62. There is a 12% sale. What is the price now?

    £40 divided by 10 is £4
    £40 minus £4 is £36

    2.A book cost £25. There was a 20% sale. What is the price of the book now?
    £25 divided by 5 is 5
    £25 minus 35 is £20

    £60 divided by 10 is £6
    £6 divided by 2 is £3
    £3 plus £6 is £9
    £60 minus £9 is £51

    4. A shirt was £85. There was a 15% sale. How much was the shirt now?
    £85 divided by 10 is £8.50
    £8.50 divided by 2 is £4.25
    £8.50 plus £4.25 is £12.75
    £85 minus £12.75 is £72.25

    5.A jacket was £62. There is a 12% sale. What is the price now?
    £62 divided by 10 is £6.20
    £6.20 divided by 10 is 62p
    62p multiplyed by 2 is £1.24
    £6.20 plus £1.24 is £7.44
    £62 minus £7.44 is £54.56

    2. 25 divided by 10=2.5. Times by 2=5 25 -5=20. The books are now 20 pounds.
    3. 60 divided by 10=6 + 60 divided by 10=6 and half it which is 3. 6+3= 9. 60 -9=51. The toy is now 51 pounds.
    4.85 divided by 10 =8.5+85 divided by 10 =8.5 and then half it which is 4.25. 8.5 + 4.25=12.3. 85-12.3=73.7. The t-shirt is now 73 pounds and 70 pence.
    5.62 divided by 10=6.2.60 divided by 100=0.62 times 2= 1.4. 6.2 + 1.4= 7.8.62-7.8=54.5, The jacket is now 54 pounds and 50 pence.

    5. 12% off £62= 62 divided by 10=6.2 100 divided by 62= 0.62 x 2=1.24 6.2+1.24=7.44
    62-7.44=54.56 The jacket is now £54.56.
