Mary Seacole, who was nearly forgotten, helped British soldiers in the Crimean war.Even though her mother was Jamaican, her father was a Scottish soldier. As, she nursed sick soldiers so kindly they called her ‘Mother Seacole’. Amazingly in 1836 Mary married Edwin Seacole. He was English. Mary and Edwin ran a store. Bravely Mary rode out on horseback, close to the fighting. Edwin Seacole, who was Mary’s husband, died in 1844.Surprisingly Mary kept a gun to scare off thieves trying to steal her cows and chickens.Mary also loved to travel. She made business trips to the islands of Cuba, the Bahamas and England. She sold pickles and preserves made from fruit and spices.

    Eleanor Roosevelt

Eleanor Roosevelt was an American politician .Eleanor Roosevelt was a Great Lady. She was the first woman to speak in front of a national convention,Eleanor had a deep commitment to social reform. Her goal was to give a voice to people who did not have access to power .Eleanor and her husband F.D.R. made a great political team . Eleanor would interrupt her husband at any time to confront him about certain issues. Her persistence and involvement lead to F.D.R.’s signing of a series of Executive Orders barring discrimination in the administration of various New Deal projects. Eleanor and her husband F.D.R. made a great political team (unlike the traditional president and first lady dynamic). As my favourite thing to do is play Pokemon, I wanted to find out about Satoshi Tajiri the inventor. Satoshi, who was born in Tokyo, enjoyed insect collecting as a hobby.Surprisingly this lead him to start designing Pokemon. Quickly this modern Japanese TV show became a worldwide phenomenon. The anime aired 2 years before the game was introduced. Even though the game was full of glitches somehow children actually found the glitches fun. Satoshi Tajiri who is considered to be one of the top 10 people in the video game market, has created one of the longest running TV anime shows ever even though the series was meant to finish after the first season.

    ROSA PARKS
Even though people say that the reason Rosa Parks went against the rules was because she was tired physically ,however the real answer is that she was tired of giving in.
Rosa Parks ,who has refused her seat before ,has been tricked by the same driver to go out and come back in however when she got outside the man left her there in the rain .
Bravely, Rosa Parks argued in addition to that she received her prize .
As Rosa Parks refused to give her seat , everyone was watching .
Rosa Parks ,who was 42 when she refused her seat, she also got fired from her seamstress job.
Proudly she received her prize .

    ROSA PARKS

Rosa Parks is a hero because when she was on the bus a white person came and he wanted a seat
[At that stage in time black people had to sit at the back of the bus and if a white person wanted to
sit down and there was no seats they could take the black persons seat].

The man told her to “MOVE!” and she said “no” so he asked her again and she said “no” again .Then the
man went to the driver and moaned “this woman will not give me a seat”. The woman was Rosa Parks
she worked on a civil rights team trying to devote the rights of black people . She did not think that
she had to give up her seat for a white man.

So the police came and put Rosa under arrest and she was sent to prison for showing that they are
all people. This inspired a local priest martin Luther king Jr he told the church about what
had happened and that inspired a bus strike . The government and the bus drivers where loosing
money so they got rid of the rule after many years of protesting .

What Rosa Parks did brought peace all around the world and inspired many men and women black or white.

That is why i think Rosa parks is a hero and inspirational person.
Heroes do not need powers or power.

    Martin Luther King.

My Hero is Martin Luther King, who inspires me and encourages me to stand for my rights and for others.
Martin Luther King was a non-violent Civil Rights Leader for all people including African Americans. He protested against racial discrimination, as in his time white people had more rights than black people.
Martin Luther King was born on January 15th 1929 in Atlanta, he was killed (shot) in April 4th 1968 in Memphis.
Martin Luther King was very famous for his speeches which touched and inspired many people in his time and still continues to our times. His most famous and favourite speech is “I HAVE A DREAM.”
Martin Luther king’s very first civil rights action was when Rosa Parks had refused to move and give up her seat on a bus to a white man. As a result of this Martin Luther King leaded a boycott of the public transportation system, which was called the Montgomery Bus Boycott.
Martin Luther King protested on for a year until the Montgomery busses ended and during those times he was arrested and his house was bombed. But Martin Luther King stayed strong and focus to his ambition and determination.

I feel everyone should read the history on Martin Luther King and find out why I am so inspired.
